I can’t take them at the same time, because they "go in the same path." So if I have to take the anxiety medication at 4pm, I have to wait until midnight to take the sleeping medication? I’m only taking the sleeping medication for a week to get on track, so I won’t have to worry about this after this week is over.
You were prescribed the anxiolytic ( possibly Xanax?) for daytime use. It also has the side effect of causing drowsiness. You were prescribed a hypnotic med for sleeping. If you take them too closely together it could cause you to become too sleepy and might even interfere with your respiratory reflex. These two drugs would have a synergistic effect when combined, making them more potent than they would normally be.

I sometimes get bad panic attacks and i feel like my chest is gonna explode! My chest tightens and i get worried that something bad is gonna happen
What are the symptoms of it?
Panic attacks have similar symptoms to real heart attacks
so I’m guessing this is why people panic so much when they
start feeling anxiety or an anxiety/panic attack. I’ve had panic
attacks before and the first time I had it I had to rush to the hospital
thinking it was something else. Anyways, the way I feel is:
- i can’t breathe easily.
- my chest starts hurting
- my arms/arm goes numb and tingly
- i feel lightheaded
if you have panic attacks just make sure you stay healthy
and breathe deeply everytime. sometimes calling people or
having people around makes you feel a lot better. i always
call my mom/ best friend / boyfriend when i feel this way
and i feel a lot better. try breathing exercises or sit down
and try your best to relax.

I’m waiting for an appointment with a doctor but i was wondering what kind of anti-anxiety medications work for others? I usually won’t take any medications because everything makes my stomach hurt but my panic disorder has gotten so bad that i can’t take it anymore. I have tried hypnosis and therapy and a few medications when i was younger but nothing works. I would appreciate anything you have found that helps and what the side effects were. Thanks.
My first was Lexapro, it didn’t work. Then I worked my way to Paxil CR, which worked but brought on 30 pounds. I’ve been on welbutrin sr, zoloft, cymbalta, prestique, all of them took away my panic attacks and faded my anxiety attacks but brought on extra weight and derealization/depersonalization. I feel like i’m living in a fog, like a zombie. I just recently got off all meds, and mysteriously lost 8 pounds of the 70 i gained while on them. Everyone is different, everyone’s body is different, the best thing to do is try diff ones until you find whats best for you. And don’t let anyone say that the pill isn’t an answer, some people do not know how it is to be in a situation like this and automatically think it’s so easy to train your thoughts. If you need antidepressants then you need them. Not everyone is capable of beating this horrid disorder on their own. I’ve been on them for 5 years, I simmered down, and finally thought it was time to go on my own. And so far so good. So anyways, good luck with your meds, and remember either let your doc pick for you, or let him/her know which one you’d like to try. You might have to go through a couple before you find the right one. Don’t get discouraged, they can be such great help when you do find the right one.

I suffer bad anxiety and always have panic attacks…well at least i thought they were panic attacks. Someone mentioned anxiety attack to me today so i thought it was the same thing, but someone told me otherwise?
Anxiety attacks and Panic attacks are the same thing. There’s no difference. However, scientifically speaking, it is impossible for your body to maintain a state of panic for more than 30 minutes. That is because the parasympathetic nervous system will kick in and stop the flow of adrenaline through your body. Your sympathetic nervous system is what creates that "fight or flight" response in your body. Regardless of how horrible and vulnerable it makes you feel, and believe me, i’ve had panic attacks before, ones which are just terrible, they will end. Keep that foremost in your mind, and tell yourself, "I will live through this".
You will pull through. Im still dealing with my own, and its a long, uphill journey, but every day is a victory. Keep your chin up!

I’m 14 and I get really bad anxiety attacks. I get atleast 2 everyday and sometimes their so bad I almost pass out. I tell my parents but they dont really do anything they tell me to just breathe (yeah thanks i never thought of that!) Why am I doing this so bad? I used to get the alot when I was like 8. What can I do to get them under a control. I usually try and get ice water whenever I have one. I’ve had 3 today. Is this normal? What can I do to stop?
I’m having one right now…..
You probably have a disorder if you’re having them this badly. Ask your parents to take you to a doctor. I went to mine and found out I have General Anxiety Disorder. I get terrible attacks too. He gave me Lexapro and Xanax and its helped.
If they wont take you, try Traditional Medicinals Easy Now tea. Its about $5 a box and my grocery store here carries it, if you cant find it try natural/organic stores. It really does ease stress a lot. My boss used to have bad attacks, he asys he used to run when he felt one coming. You really need to go to a doctor though, so he can diagnose you to see if medicine would help. Insurance pays for the large majority of medications for this kind of thing (the Lexapro does cost me $40 a month, but the Xanax only costs $4)

I have an autographed diary journal (from their boxset) singed by Panic and a special edition album by Chiodos for sale online and I don’t know how much to let it go for.
Someone wants the diary for about $20…
Thanks in advance.
Something is only worth about as much as another person is willing to pay for it. You could always get the stuff appraised, but that would probably cost more than those things are worth.

i have it so bad at times, better said most times, i dont want to leave the house or really be around people. and dont say medicine cuz thats not really helping at all or maybe i havent found the right one.
I only read the first answer and to be honest it really was on the money for the most part.
There are 3 "known" causes of anxiety:
1. family (genes)
2. chemical imbalance
3. environment
These 3 categories really cover everything. Your environment shapes your personality, but your genes could effect your personality as well. Anxiety disorder can be caused by how you act during different stressful situations which creates a cycle of fear and panic attacks.
Your anxiety could also be caused by a chemical imbalance where serotonin in your brain is not being produced properly or there is some problem in that area. This neurotransmitter regulates mood, anger, and other things.
Like the other answer said, you might want to try working with yourself and figuring out what is wrong in your own life before you try medication. Seek a professionals help if you can’t do it on your own. Don’t be afraid to tell the whole truth and question what the doctor offers. You are there to get help, but you have to be vigilant when it comes to your body and mind,
A professional can decide if you need medication or not. You might have to be on medication for a long time before you can finally be free of anxiety. Sometimes medication is used to relax people so they can do some soul searching in a healthy way. Be aware though that medication does have side effects that can hinder your abilities to think. A friend of mine was placed on medication and he has not been the same since. We both suffered from anxiety, but I chose to go without medication and he still takes them 5 years later.

If you have an anxiety attack and you have a prescription for an anti-anxiety medication (as needed), is it best to try to tough it out without the medication, or is it best to take medication?
I am in the same situation and I choose to take the meds as needed. I have three kids and an anxiety attack can lead to strokes and heart attacks. No way am I missing out on my kids.
