i have it so bad at times, better said most times, i dont want to leave the house or really be around people. and dont say medicine cuz thats not really helping at all or maybe i havent found the right one.
I only read the first answer and to be honest it really was on the money for the most part.
There are 3 "known" causes of anxiety:
1. family (genes)
2. chemical imbalance
3. environment
These 3 categories really cover everything. Your environment shapes your personality, but your genes could effect your personality as well. Anxiety disorder can be caused by how you act during different stressful situations which creates a cycle of fear and panic attacks.
Your anxiety could also be caused by a chemical imbalance where serotonin in your brain is not being produced properly or there is some problem in that area. This neurotransmitter regulates mood, anger, and other things.
Like the other answer said, you might want to try working with yourself and figuring out what is wrong in your own life before you try medication. Seek a professionals help if you can’t do it on your own. Don’t be afraid to tell the whole truth and question what the doctor offers. You are there to get help, but you have to be vigilant when it comes to your body and mind,
A professional can decide if you need medication or not. You might have to be on medication for a long time before you can finally be free of anxiety. Sometimes medication is used to relax people so they can do some soul searching in a healthy way. Be aware though that medication does have side effects that can hinder your abilities to think. A friend of mine was placed on medication and he has not been the same since. We both suffered from anxiety, but I chose to go without medication and he still takes them 5 years later.

Could you be confusing the label of anxiety with ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOR. Do you just feel uncomfortable around others because you don’t like to have to enteract with others or do you hyperventilate, sweat, get highly irritatated great fear of the situation.? There are therapy techniques to practice on your own or with professional help.
sorry had to take a phone call: to continue if you can identify the differance then maybe I could help suggest some self treatment exercises that may help one step at a time.

To a degree, these feelings will come, but they will also go. I find prayer, and asking the Lord for it to go helps. Getting others to pray for you in a prayer ministry helps too. Try deep slow breathing diaphramatically helps too. I find reading the Bible helps, there is a section in the back of the NIV with sections that help, soothe, and give advice on what makes a person anxious, and then, what to think about to dispel it. Also, as far as meds are concerned, ask your consultant for one that works for you, it’s a matter of finding what works for you, as some will and some won’t. It’s a matter of trying out different ones, until you hit one the right one. Ask for any anxiety management courses and psychotherapy that you can do.
I know it’s a truly nasty thing when it’s got you in its grip, but these are things you can try. Go to church and try to meet the right people who will be willing to support you, it truly does help, but go to a well-recognised mainstream church, not any of the more extreme ones. -That’s very important, as the extreme ones can do things in the wrong way. I went straight to my local priest in private, one to one from the very beginning, and laid my cards on the table. Hope this helps. Try Cof E or RC, Methodist, something like that.m If there is a church that is well respected in the community for helping people, go there.
Hope this helps
