How To Treat Panic Attacks

Are you suffering from debilitating panic attacks or maybe know someone who does? If so then you will probably already know the symptoms of those of us whom suffer from panic and anxiety attacks. What you are doing know is a great first step, as many anxiety and panic sufferers tend to put off getting help or perhaps even feel embarrassed about their condition.  We sometimes feel alone or like you’re the only one suffering from it, when in reality, millions of other people are suffering the same way you are. It’s important that you realize that you can get better, but there is not magic pill, and it will take work and patience.

Time To Treat Your Anxiety

First of all you probably want to seek the advice of a medical professional. This could start with your Family Doctor and if you want to see a psychiatrist he may have someone he could refer to you, but many times the doctor will just ask you to give him your symptoms and he will most likely perform a physical to make sure nothing physically is wrong with you. Don’t be scared of this step, I know I was, but after I finally went, I realized how silly it was. My doctor actually made me feel more relaxed, especially when I had asked him if he sees many people like this, and he told me he did “multiple times a day”.

It’s really not a big deal, and knowing nothing is physically wrong is an important first step. 99.9% of the time it is nothing physical, but it’s just to be sure. Most likely he will recommend trying an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety medication. Many physicians have one they like the best, but don’t feel pressured into medication if you want to try the natural route. I recommend a course above that worked well for me. It’s the banner at the top of this page, but you may need medication to help you get you over the hump if your anxiety is really bad. I carry Xanax with me to use as needed, which after using the course I talked about earlier, is not very often.

Lifestyle Changes

You should also cut out all caffeine, and really get control of your diet if you are eating bad. It will make a big difference in your mental well being. It’s also important to get some exercise as well, as this is a natural stress reliever, and if incorporated even mildly can make you feel more relaxed.

No matter what you choose to do, get some help. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, and if you are suffering it’s just not worth it to keep hoping it will go away. See your doctor, check out the course above, and get on the track to ridding yourself of the anxiety.
